Metric to Play Radio City Music Hall

Canadian indie rockers “Metric” will be playing famed Radio City Music Hall on September 23, 2012.

With their unique, heavily “80′s New Wave” inspired sound, Metric has amassed a cult-like following since emerging on the music scene in 1998.

Heavy use of synthesizers, theremins and catchy grooves has kept Metric around nearly 15 years and a concert date at Radio City Music Hall is an impressive achievement for any band at any point in their careers.

With no other New York City area dates scheduled, Metric tickets are expected to sell out quickly. There are great seats available now but it is only a matter of time before the show is completely sold out and prices on the secondary market get pushed higher due to overwhelming demand.

Wilco Tickets On Sale for Brooklyn, New York

The vastly underrated American rock band Wilco will be performing two shows at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on July 23rd and 24th.

Wilco tickets are available now for both shows.

Fans who are familiar with Wilco know they originated from another great band, Uncle Tupelo. When Uncle Tupelo disbanded, some members formed Son Volt while others went on to form Wilco. The result is two great bands that make you wonder just how good would Uncle Tupelo have become if they remained together?!

Or perhaps the greatness was achieved due to the split, not in spite of it.

In any event, Wilco fans have seen them grow and mature from their early roots rock/alternative country recordings to their more experimental/noise-filled period and to their current more mellow almost jam band phase.

What you will get when you see Wilco in concert is songs from every part of their career. Last year they performed at New York’s Central Park (Rumsey Playfield) and the show included tracks from every album.

Eventhough they are not exactly a commercial success, Wilco fans are devoted and love to see this band live. So, if you want to attend a Wilco concert you need to strike while the iron is hot to acquire Wilco tickets — because they do not sit around very long.

Roger Waters Returning to New York Area this Summer

Legendary Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters is bringing his live performance of The Wall back to the New York area this summer.

Currently there are two dates scheduled for shows at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx. Friday July 6 and Saturday July 7 will see Pink Floyd’s The Wall come to life on the field as Roger Waters performs the classic album from start to finish.

With so many great Pink Floyd songs from this album, it is going to be an amazing concert and this time it is outdoors under the stars at Yankee Stadium. What an amazing scene that is going to be!

As you surely know, The Wall is a concept album, largely auto-biographical written by Roger Waters and released by Pink Floyd in 1979. Some of the memorable tracks from The Wall include:

  • Young Lust
  • Another Brick in the Wall
  • Mother
  • Hey You
  • Comfortably Numb

Just to chance to see these 5 songs live is reason enough to want to be there but throw in the rest of the album, the unprecedented theatrical performance (the show includes a GIGANTIC Wall on the stage and various digital displays — I don’t want to reveal too much but believe me, it is a GREAT SHOW).

Rock fans are anxiously awaiting the return of this tour to the area and Roger Waters tickets are available now from the field to the upper deck of Yankee Stadium.

Bruce Springsteen Rocks Wells Fargo Center a Second Time

Following a critically acclaimed first night at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, which included a rousing rendition of “Seaside Bar Song”, Bruce Springsteen fans were left to wonder what night two would have in store and if it could live up to the first night. In a word, YES!

Take a look at the somewhat unbelievably jam-packed Bruce Springsteen setlist of March 29 at the Wells Fargo Center:

  • We Take Care Of Our Own
  • Wrecking Ball
  • Night
  • Death To My Hometown
  • My City Of Ruins
  • Thundercrack
  • Jack Of All Trades
  • Trapped
  • Easy Money
  • Prove It All Night
  • Darkness on the Edge of Town
  • Waitin’ On A Sunny Day
  • Promised Land
  • The Way You Do The Things You Do
  • 634-5789
  • Streets of Philadelphia
  • The Rising
  • We Are Alive
  • Thunder Road

ENCORE:

  • Rocky Ground
  • Kitty’s Back
  • Born To Run
  • Dancing In the Dark
  • Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out

Pretty amazing and something that had to be a thrill for all fans in attendance.

With a full horn section required to replace the dearly departed Big Man, Clarence Clemons, Bruce has dusted off some old tunes from the early days which include horns and have given them new life.

Coming up next week on the tour schedule for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are four shows stretched across the IZOD Center and Madison Square Garden. There’s nothing like seeing Bruce in NJ and NY.

KISS & Motley Crue Touring Together

Hard rock legends KISS and Motley Crue are teaming up for what is sure to be the loudest concert tour of the 2012 summer season.

Playing outdoor concert venues like PNC Bank Arts Center, Jones Beach Theatre, and Susquehanna Bank Center gives the fans of both a chance to see two awesome concerts in one night.

Both of these bands are world reknowned for their outrageous stage antics, from KISS and their fire-breathing demon Gene Simmons to Motley Crue’s gavity-defying drummer Tommy Lee — there will be no shortage of theatrics and pyrotechniques all night long.

All the showmanship aside, both of these bands can flat out ROCK.

Kiss has an endless string of great songs that are even better when performed live, here’s a few:

  • Duece
  • Strutter
  • Detroit Rock City
  • Rock N Roll All Nite
  • Calling Dr Love

Any one of those songs is guaranteed to get you out of your seat!

Then you’ve got Motley Crue cranking out their own awesome tunes like: Girls, Girls, Girls, Dr. Feelgood, Too Young to Fall In Love, Live Wire and the anthemic Home Sweet Home.

This is seriously going to be one amazing concert, fans who are interested in attending are urged to lock in on their Kiss and Motley Crue tickets now. These venues are not the biggest places they could play so the shows are expected to sell out, which will only make it harder to find tickets at a later date.
